The department was established in 1973 on the basis of a scientific group of employees of the department of organophosphorus compounds engaged in scientific research on the chemistry of organosulfur compounds that contain sulfur-nitrogen double bonds. The head of the department was appointed Dr. K.S. Levchenko, who held this position until the end of March 1986. Since 1986, the department has been headed by Doctor of Science, Prof. Yu.G. Shermolovich. The department employs 4 doctors, 8 candidates of sciences and 3 leading engineers.
The main scientific direction of the department is the creation of synthesis methods and the study of the chemical properties of new fluorine- and sulfur-containing compounds to investigate the possibilities of their use as medical preparations. The search for synthetic methodologies and the development of approaches to the use of fluorine-sulfur compounds to create new substances with useful properties.Основні наукові та практичні досягнення відділу.
Main scientific and practical achievements of the department
Methodologies for the use of simple and commercially available organofluorine building blocks for obtaining a number of fluorine- and sulfur-containing compounds of various structures have been developed. A simple preparative method for obtaining dialkylaminotrifluorosulfurans was developed and their use for the selective introduction of a fluorine atom into functionally substituted organic compounds was studied.
